Bosch battery technologies: optimum power for leisure and off-highway applications

Innovative technologies make a decisive contribution to the first-class quality and to the high performance capability of Bosch batteries. Bosch developed these technologies specifically for the different requirements of leisure and off-highway applications – thus ensuring maximum safety and reliability.

    PowerFrame® technology (Bosch L5 and L4 batteries)

    PowerFrame® technology (Bosch L5 and L4 batteries)

The grid decides about the performance and the reliability of batteries. The patented PowerFrame® from Bosch ensures significant advantages in comparison with conventional grids. It optimizes the current flow and prevents both corrosion and a premature failure of the battery.

Labyrinth lid (of Bosch L5 and L4 batteries)

Labyrinth lid (of Bosch L5 and L4 batteries)

The labyrinth lid on Bosch leisure and off-highway batteries reliably returns condensed water to the battery. The integrated central degassing system ensures safe removal of gases built up when charging. Backfire protection and an additional sealing ring ensure a high level of operational safety.

Deep Cycle technology (Bosch L5 and L5 G batteries)

In leisure and off-highway batteries, Bosch Deep Cycle technology ensures high comfort far away from the power grid. Thanks to its high deep-cycle resistance and its power density, it allows the operation of a large number of electrical consumers. High charge acceptance and minimum self-discharge make the Deep Cycle batteries ideal for mobile use.

    AGM (OPTIMA® BlueTop®, OPTIMA® YellowTop® and OPTIMA® RedTop® Bosch batteries)

    AGM technology

In AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology, special micro-fiberglass mats completely absorbing the battery acid are installed close to the lead plates. High contact pressure minimizes the loss of active material at a very low internal resistance. Due to the fast reaction of acid and plate material, higher amounts of energy can be provided.

    SpiralCell® technology (of OPTIMA® BlueTop®, OPTIMA® YellowTop® and OPTIMA® RedTop® Bosch batteries)

    SpiralCell® technology

At the SpiralCell® technology, two lead plates are rolled to a single spiral-shaped cell. A glass fleece absorbing the acid and placed between the plates serves a separator. In comparison with conventional batteries with flat lead plates, the rolled spiral cells feature an improved performance. Batteries with SpiralCell® technology are thus particularly compact, robust and powerful.
